So, yesterday I was emptying the dishwasher and when suddenly I was distracted by a thought and the next thing I knew I was pulling glasses out of the cabinets and putting them back in the dishwasher. It was as if someone had put me in reverse. It couldn’t have been mindless habit, I didn’t forget that the dishwasher was clean, for example. I was taking things out of the cabinets! I never do that. It was more like I forgot what time it was, specifically I forgot that time moves forward.

Time moves forwards ? Since when ?
My own personal favourite: Put dirty stuff in the dishwasher, put in cleaning tablet, select the cleaning program and then go to bed without pressing the "ON" button. Wake up next morning, unload dishwasher while still 99% asleep... then realise it's still all dirty. Try remembering what I've put away in the cupboards... unsuccessfully....
Modern technology can be such a headache for us cavemen.
i have to be really smart-arsey and annoying and point out that time doesn't move; isn't it more like our perception or may of measuring it is linear and directional, but it really isn't? ... or something ... *crawls back to my hole* =)
I zone out all the time, btw, so I'm more amazed if i do something that makes sense. i think i'm so distracted all the time that i'm never concentrating on the task at hand. it's not good, especially when you're a lawyer ... *cough*
